“Code Barre” by Sam
One way to illustrate the commercial use of the beach and the fact that it is put off by the continual degradation, its ever-growing pollution.
Sam’s beach art is part of a broader definition of environmental art. Environmental art by definition it is art that helps improve our relationship with the natural world. There is no definition set in stone. It is a living worldwide movement that is growing and changing as you read this.
Much environmental art is ephemeral (made to disappear or transform) as in the case of Sam’s work, designed for a particular place (and can’t be moved), Sam captures his through photographs which he prints on sheets of brushed or polished aluminum depending on the suitability of the subject to the medium.
This work is printed on white aluminum and signed on the back by artist
